Subjects
This workshop is timed to take advantage of the tides in conjunction with the sunset to allow for good conditions for photographing this beach. The weather could be anything from sunny to stormy. Storm surges could affect the tide levels. We will leave earlier than usual due to travel time. We will stop at Point Arena Lighthouse before going to Bowling Ball Beach, and we may photograph Salt Point or Sea Ranch before or after our stops in Mendocino. We may photograph until after nightfall during the "blue hour", depending on conditions.
Our Focus
Using histograms, the workshop will focus on how to photograph in harsh light, capturing detail in both the light and dark areas of a scene. If it is overcast, we will go over the settings needed to get vibrant pictures.
General Topics Covered
We will build up your technical foundation no matter your current level, including:
Focusing, depth of field, and image sharpness
