Subjects

I visit this place all year. It is often sunny in winter, but stormy weather could be more dramatic. We may photograph redwood or oak forests, as well as hilltops with panoramic views of the Pacific as well as San Francisco Bay and the city. We may do short hikes in some spots. We may go into a valley below (where Muir Woods is), there are great spots to photograph there in winter.

Our Focus

Using histograms, the workshop will focus on how to photograph in harsh light, capturing detail in both the light and dark areas of a scene. If it is overcast, we will go over the settings needed to get vibrant pictures.

General Topics Covered

We will build up your technical foundation no matter your current level, including:

Focusing, depth of field, and image sharpness
