The north end of Dry Creek Valley is a quieter, less-traveled part of wine country. In May, the days are warm and the vines start filling out. I like photographing the new growth. The vines haven't overtaken the rows with a formless mass, as they do in summer.

The focus is shallow here, creating a dreamy, "painterly" effect.
