Wine Country
Napa-Sonoma is world-famous. It is not just great to visit, but beautiful to photograph. Fall is a really great time, but Winter and Spring are also good times to photograph here.
Vines turn colors in October. Due to micro-climates, the vineyards don't change at once. Some turn yellow when others have lost their leaves. It's the same with the mustard in winter, it comes and goes at different times. In spring, every vineyard is basically green at the same time.
The Seasons
Fall
This is Christmas for landscape photographers. Beautiful subjects, color, and light!
Winter
The vineyards are initially barren, but mid-winter the mustard comes, bringing vibrant color between dark vines.
Spring
There is early growth on the vines and everything is green, and neatly structured.
Summer
It is hard to photograph in Summer since the vines are "bushy". Lance offers workshops when the odds of great scenes are best, so there are no workshops at this time.
