The New Vintage

This photograph, titled The New Vintage, was taken in the quiet north end of Dry Creek Valley—a less-traveled stretch of wine country where time seems to slow.

Captured in May, the vines are just beginning to fill out, their fresh green leaves catching the warm light of spring. I’ve always been drawn to this stage of growth—when the vineyard still holds its structure, and each row breathes with space and rhythm.

Using a shallow depth of field, I created a soft, painterly effect that adds a sense of calm and dreaminess to the scene.
