This photograph was intentionally made out-of-focus—on purpose, with a $10,000 camera setup—to soften the details and let the simple shapes of these historic buildings at Pierce Point Ranch take center stage. It’s an image about form and feeling, not precision. And maybe that’s what made it stand out: this very print won First Place at the Marin County Fair, one of the most competitive photo contests in the Bay Area.
Later, I served as a judge for that same fair and realized just how big of a deal that win was—hundreds of entries pour in for the color photo category every year. So yes, this “fuzzy” photo has some serious credentials.
There’s only one print left, and it’s being offered at a significant discount. When it’s gone, it’s gone.
