This is the earliest photograph featured on my website—captured during the first photography workshop I attended as a student at UC Santa Cruz. Taken at Wheeler Ranch, just outside Santa Cruz and before it became a state park, this image marks the quiet beginning of my journey as a photographer.
The scene—a lone dog sitting in the doorway of a weathered barn—carries the same rustic stillness and timeless character that would later define my work in the North Bay. This print is more than a photograph; it’s a piece of origin, a glimpse into where it all began.
