Although this image portrays the spirit of Día de los Muertos, it was actually captured during Petaluma’s Butter and Eggs Day Parade—a springtime celebration known for its creativity, community pride, and unexpected moments like this one. The handmade skull, with its expressive features and flowing ribbons, stood out like a bold tribute to culture and imagination.
I transformed the original photograph in Photoshop to give it a painterly feel—rich textures, splattered color, and layers of detail that bring out the life and artistry in the scene. It’s part of my Petaluma Landmarks series, celebrating the unique character of this town through its most colorful events.
This fine art print is one of a kind and now offered at a deep discount. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. If you’re drawn to bold visuals, cultural storytelling, or the quirky charm of small-town parades, this piece is a vibrant addition to your space.
