Less than ten miles from my studio, on an unusually beautiful spring day, the hills came alive beneath drifting, billowy clouds. Light and shadow played across the landscape, shifting with every passing moment. I stood there, watching, waiting — knowing the scene would offer something rare.

The greens were rich, the trees cast long, soft shadows, and the hills caught the changing light like a living canvas. Some photographs you question; this one I didn’t. I knew the moment I saw it that it deserved to be printed — to be seen, to be lived with.
