Autumn brings a quiet magic to Point Reyes—golden light on windswept bluffs, dry grasses glowing in the afternoon sun, and long shadows stretching across the landscape. Join us for an immersive afternoon photography workshop as we explore this iconic coastal region during one of its most photogenic seasons.

This small-group workshop is open to all experience levels and offers hands-on instruction as we photograph the textures, light, and rugged beauty that make fall on the coast so compelling. From historic ranches to dramatic seascapes and the beloved Cypress Tree Tunnel, you’ll capture Point Reyes at its most timeless.

Workshop Highlights

📍 Pierce Point Ranch – Capture the character of this historic dairy ranch, framed by golden pastures and soft autumn haze. We’ll explore ways to use light and shadow to evoke depth and nostalgia.

📍 Drakes Beach – With afternoon tides and rich side-lighting, this location is perfect for dramatic seascapes and sandstone cliffs. Learn how to work with changing skies and water movement.

📍 North Beach – A dynamic coastal location for practicing motion, minimalism, and late-afternoon light. Expect glowing ocean surfaces and soft cloud drama.

📍 Cypress Tree Tunnel – We’ll end the day here as the sun begins to set. Fall light filtering through the tunnel creates moody, elegant compositions—ideal for experimenting with framing and contrast.

🚗 Meet in Petaluma – Start at Lance’s studio (carpooling available), or meet us in Inverness.
